How research at IQRAA is reviewed, approved and governed — the committees that scrutinise every proposal, and the national accreditation the centre holds.
Scientific Research Committee (SRC)
The Scientific Research Committee reviews research projects undertaken by DNB/DrNB trainees at IQRAA International Hospital and Research Centre, to ensure research quality before proposals proceed to ethics review. Reconstituted per Circular IQ/CR/002/11/25, effective 21 November 2025, Calicut.
Purpose
To enhance the quality of research projects undertaken at IQRAA International Hospital and Research Centre.
Functions
- Review research projects of DNB/DrNB trainees at IIHRC.
- Ensure all research proposals from IIHRC are approved by the SRC before submission to the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC).
- Review other external research proposals in collaboration with IIHRC for scientific approval before ethics review.
- Check and improve the scientific quality of research proposals from DNB/DrNB trainees and faculty.
- Forward approved proposals to the IEC for ethical clearance.
- Act as part of the Institutional Protocol Approval Committee for PhD scholars of IIHRC.
- Conduct meetings once every six months, or as and when required, to review projects.
- Maintain a 50% quorum to hold meetings.

Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC)
The Institutional Ethics Committee has been approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (CDSCO). All research proposals cleared by the SRC are referred to the IEC for ethics consideration before a study can proceed.

SIRO — Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation
IQRAA was accredited as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) in 2022, endorsed by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.
This recognition acknowledges IQRAA’s research capability and its adherence to rigorous standards of research integrity, ethical conduct and methodological excellence. It supports the hospital’s ability to pursue strategic research collaborations and access DSIR-linked benefits — such as customs and tax concessions on research equipment — available to recognised SIROs.
